To be eligible, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, and Lionel Richie have been nominated to the long list the first time, joining Fela Kuti, Dionne Warwick and more who have been nominated previously.Įminem is the only artist to be nominated in his first year of eligibility. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have announced the nominees for the class of 2022.
